General Job Description

We are looking to recruit a warehouse and office administrator who we can train to work in our small but busy office which will include duties such as processing orders; dealing with customers on the phone and maintaining good stock control processes. The candidate will also be required to assist in the warehouse with preparation and packing of internet and wholesale orders; loading vehicles in preparation for deliveries and the unloading of received stock - this will require manual handling and heavy lifting (up to 25kg).

Must Have: The successful candidate must have the right attitude and is comfortable working for a small family business where they are prepared to chip-in and cover a wide range and mix of responsibilities. Due to licensing laws and the nature of the business, the applicant must be over the age of 18.

Key Tasks

  • Preparing invoices and delivery notes
  • Comparing Invoices received with quotes and Purchase Orders
  • Locating stock and picking orders for courier collection
  • Loading delivery vehicles
  • Stock Management

Additional Tasks: Opportunities to help updating company website, social media pages and company newsletter.

Accountabilities:

  • Have a can-do attitude working in a small team.
  • Demonstrate high levels of self-motivation and initiative to problem solve.
  • Be polite and professional and have a willingness to go the ‘extra mile’.
  • Excellent administration skills with the ability to use Microsoft Office programmes in particular Excel and Outlook.
  • Answering the phone in a polite fashion.
  • Comfortable with manual handling and heavy lifting.
  • Full training on our internal systems will be provided.
  • Strong work ethic and initiative with the ability to work without supervision.

Job Type: Part time (circa 32.5 hours), Permanent. Salary: £7.50-£10.50 p/h dependent on experience.

Schedule: Proposed work pattern of 9am-4pm 5 days a week (some small variation may be possible). You must be available to work school holidays, too. The successful applicant will have the ability to work on their own initiative and be flexible for covering holidays and sickness. 31 days holiday a year inc. bank holidays.
