Finance Assistant

We have an exciting opportunity for a qualified or part qualified finance professional to work closely with the Finance Manager to ensure effective financial management across the Company. The Finance Assistant will play an essential role through maintaining financial systems, recording and processing financial information, data entry and general financial administration.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of financial principles and a thorough attention to detail. We are looking for a proactive and tenacious self-starter who has the ability to use their own initiative and build positive working relationships with colleagues, customers and suppliers alike.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Purchase ledger (accounts payable) administration
  • Purchase invoice processing and query management
  • Supplier management including statement checks and sending remittances
  • Expense processing
  • Sales ledger (accounts receivable) administration
  • Credit control and cash collection including customer statements management
  • Customers’ credit risk management and debt status reporting
  • Dealing with customer/supplier queries/requests
  • Assisting with reconciling and reporting
  • Managing the accounts email inbox and dealing with incoming post
  • General finance admin duties

Experience & Skills

  • Working knowledge of Excel, VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables
  • Working knowledge of Exchequer software or EPICOR (ERP) an advantage
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: £25,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
