Jacobs seeks a Graphic Designer to join our Creative Solutions team to support Growth & Sales Europe. This position offers a flexible combination of remote and in-office support based on our current environment, client needs, candidate location and ability to work independently. Candidates will connect to our Glasgow office as their hub office.

The Graphic Designer will be a proactive team player, excited and ready to engage on a multitude of projects with various teams on a local, national level and regional basis, focusing on the design and development of both client facing projects and proposals and supporting graphics, presentations, and positioning materials – from concept to completion. Must have proven skills with Adobe CS software (primarily InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop) and strong presentation development experience (primarily PowerPoint). Previous Architectural/Engineering & Construction (AEC) and/or Proposal and Sales experience would be of benefit.

Scope exists for you to develop your career within this exciting role, so an appetite to learn and develop through both internal training and your own self-initiative is essential.

As a lateral thinker, you will be willing to push the boundaries and challenge design decisions whilst recognising and appreciating potential constraints. Responsibilities associated with this post will include:

  • Leads strategic graphic design solutions to support in the production of client facing solutions, winning proposals, sales materials and presentations, including but not limited to document layouts, powerpoint presentations, story boards, covers/dividers, marketing collateral/brochures, illustrations, interactive PDFs, adverts, and digital media.
  • Delivers conceptual, innovative, creative solutions whilst aligning to the Jacobs brand and our organisation’s core values.
  • Collaborates, shares knowledge and best practice within our creative community.
  • Strong communicator, with the ability to present own concepts and design ideas and the humility to receive constructive feedback.
  • Maximises efficiencies, processes, and automation by encouraging a more systematic and productive working practice.
  • Plans, conceptualises, and designs compelling and impactful graphics while collaborating with proposal team members and technical staff to strengthen our value proposition.

  • Strong technical skills, demonstrating print and digital capabilities across a range of media

  • Fully conversant in Adobe Creative Suite
  • Must also be competent in Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Strong eye for detail and the ability to contribute creative ideas
  • Self-motivated, willing to solve complex client challenges with compelling visual solutions
  • Willingness to travel to our UK / international offices to provide technical support.

Desirable Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, visual arts, or a related field is highly desirable.
  • Digital capabilities, including web prototyping and wirefram.
